Three individuals linked to the Tren de Aragua gang were arrested in connection with the kidnapping and murder of Nilzult Petit, whose body was found in Irving, Texas with a gunshot wound to the head. The suspects allegedly executed Petit and left two young children, believed to be his relatives, abandoned on a nearby service road. The suspects apprehended were identified as Ehiker Alexander Morales Mendoza, Carlos Luis Zambrano Bolivar, and Jhonata Nahin Toro Gonzalez. They face charges of capital murder and aggravated kidnapping, while a fourth suspect, Jhonny Jesus Martinez Serrano, is still at large.

Documents have revealed that Aurora authorities were aware of the Tren de Aragua gang activity over a year ago. The gang, based in Venezuela, has expanded its operations to the United States, engaging in drug and human trafficking. Surveillance footage from an Aurora apartment building showed the presence of the criminal outfit, and two of the suspects involved in Petit’s case were apprehended by ICE agents in Colorado, while another was taken into custody in New Mexico by Homeland Security agents. The gang has been compared to MS-13 for its violence and criminal activities.

It was discovered that Petit was allegedly involved in an ATM theft scheme with the suspects and failed to pay his co-conspirators, leading to his kidnapping. Farmer’s Branch police confirmed that the suspects, as well as Petit, are affiliated with Tren de Aragua. The suspects are awaiting extradition from Colorado and New Mexico to face charges in Texas. The police are still searching for Serrano, the fourth suspect involved in the case, and urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward.

The children who were left on the roadside after Petit’s murder were reportedly related to him, and they were found by officers along the IH-35E highway service road. The suspects allegedly kidnapped both Petit and the children, taking them to an apartment in Farmers Branch where Petit was executed. The investigation into the case revealed the connection to Tren de Aragua gang members. The suspects now in custody face serious charges related to the kidnapping and murder of Petit, while efforts continue to locate the fourth suspect still on the run.
