The Bears were priced out of the market for top running backs like Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs, leading them to pursue a more affordable option like Swift. General manager Ryan Poles is known for being disciplined in his approach to contracts, ensuring that the team stays within their value buckets when making signings. Swift’s contract aligns more closely with what the Bears were expecting to pay for a running back, making him a sensible choice for the team.
Swift’s experience working alongside Jamaal Williams in Detroit and then with the Eagles helped him develop into the player he is today.
