Ibrahim al-Organi is an Egyptian mogul who heads the Organi Group, overseeing a vast network of companies in construction, real estate, and security. Maintaining close connections with top Egyptian officials, al-Organi’s company, Hala, has come under scrutiny for its involvement in providing services to Palestinians trying to escape Gaza, with allegations of exorbitant fees. While al-Organi claims to have limited involvement in Hala, he is listed as chairman of Organi Group with his son as CEO, building a business empire that supports the Egyptian economy across various fields.

Hala, originally listed as a company under Organi Group, has recently been removed from the conglomerate’s website. Al-Organi described Hala as a tourism company providing V.I.P. services to Palestinian travelers crossing through Rafah in Gaza. Services offered by Hala reportedly included coordinating exits for Gazans, charging adults $2,500 and children nothing, as claimed by al-Organi, though allegations from war-torn Gaza residents questioned the lack of V.I.P. services provided. Al-Organi’s ties to Gaza date back to his birthplace near the region, with his companies involved in reconstruction efforts and providing aid supplies following conflicts in the area.

Through his influence and close relationships with Egyptian government officials, al-Organi has advanced his business interests, particularly in the Sinai region. Partnering with the Egyptian military to combat militants in Sinai who claimed affiliation with the Islamic State, al-Organi led the Sinai Tribes’ Union, which supported the government in fighting terror groups. In 2022, President el-Sisi appointed al-Organi to the Sinai Development Authority and announced plans for the construction of a city in Sinai named after the president. Al-Organi denied any special relationship with el-Sisi, stating that others also supported the president and his initiatives.

Al-Organi’s involvement in Gaza and reconstruction efforts in the region has brought attention to his business practices and connections to the Egyptian government. His companies play a key role in providing aid and support to Palestinians in Gaza, with projects endorsed by President el-Sisi. Al-Organi has pledged unwavering support for Palestinians in Gaza, using his influence and resources to help in their time of need, particularly during periods of conflict and reconstruction after wars between Israel and Hamas.

Despite the controversy surrounding Hala and allegations of high fees for services provided to Palestinians in Gaza, al-Organi maintains his position as a prominent figure in the Egyptian business landscape. With his business empire supporting various sectors of the Egyptian economy, al-Organi’s connections to government officials and his role in development initiatives in Sinai have solidified his influence in the region. As he navigates his business dealings and ties to the Egyptian government, al-Organi continues to play a significant role in supporting communities in Gaza and aiding in the region’s reconstruction efforts.
