White supremacist Richard Spencer is urging his followers to support Vice President Harris in the upcoming presidential election, calling her the “best manager of the American empire.” Spencer, known for his racist beliefs and admiration of Nazism, condemned former President Trump’s strong support of Israel, preferring Harris’ stance on the issue. Harris has expressed support for Israel while also acknowledging the suffering of Palestinians and their need for sovereignty, which Spencer found preferable to Trump’s policies.

Spencer believes that Harris would be more likely to support Ukraine and is planning to vote straight down the Democratic ticket in his home state of Montana, endorsing Democratic candidates like Sen. John Tester and House candidate Monica Tranel. This shift towards supporting anti-Israel Democrats is not new among white supremacists, with former Ku Klux Klan boss David Duke praising squad Rep. Ilhan Omar as an important member of the US Congress. Spencer, who previously supported Trump in 2016, expressed disappointment in the former president’s closing off of important discussions and amplification of idiocy.

In a nearly 12 minute video posted to X, Spencer explained his reasons for supporting Harris, citing her more centrist and rational approach to governance as the main factor. He also expressed concern over Trump’s potential involvement in a regional conflict between Israel and Iran, believing that Harris would handle the situation differently. Spencer believes that Harris aligns with the current flow towards centrism and democracy, making her a responsible choice for him to vote for in the upcoming election.

Spencer gained international recognition after attending the deadly 2017 rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he was a featured speaker and made controversial statements in support of white nationalism. He also made headlines for his Nazi salutes and praise of Trump during a white nationalist event in 2016. Despite his history of extreme beliefs, Spencer now sees Harris as a more suitable candidate for the presidency due to her approach to issues like Israel, Palestine, and Ukraine.

While Spencer’s endorsement of Harris may seem surprising given his background, he is not the first white supremacist to show support for anti-Israel Democrats. This shift in support reflects a broader trend among white supremacists towards candidates who align with their beliefs on certain issues. Spencer’s decision to vote for Harris in the upcoming election is based on his perception that she would be a more responsible and rational leader compared to Trump, whose policies and behavior have disappointed him. The Harris campaign did not respond to requests for comment regarding Spencer’s endorsement.
