Hoang Van Ty expressed his shock at the extent of flooding outside his home in Thai Nguyen province. The flood waters had submerged his house, leaving his clothes and furniture underwater. The disaster management agency reported that over 200,000 hectares of rice and cash crop fields in Thai Nguyen province had been inundated by landslides and floods caused by the typhoon. Additionally, power supplies were disrupted, and the roofs of several factories in Haiphong and Quang Ninh provinces were blown off, halting production. In response to the crisis, countries such as Australia, Japan, and the United States announced plans to send aid to Vietnam to assist with the recovery efforts.

In Thailand, the death toll rose to eight, with additional fatalities from a landslide in Chiang Mai province. Mae Sai district on the Thai-Myanmar border faced its worst flooding in 80 years, according to a senior interior ministry official.
