The Ukrainian General Staff claimed responsibility for the attacks on the substations, stating that the facilities support the Russian railway, which transports weapons and military equipment to support its occupation army. Russian air defenses managed to thwart a barrage of 39 Ukrainian drones over five regions of Russia, including the Kursk region, resulting in power outages in several districts. Ukraine has been employing high technology in its campaign of increasingly ambitious drone strikes deep inside Russia’s territory, targeting critical infrastructure in an attempt to hinder Moscow’s war machine.
