Two teachers have been suspended from a Texas elementary school after allegedly giving students special stickers to make them sleep. The incident occurred on September 24 at Northgate Elementary School in the Spring Independent School District. The teachers involved were immediately removed from the classroom pending a police investigation. The school administration was notified by a parent that their child had been given a sleeping aid patch in the classroom by a teacher. As a precautionary measure, two paraprofessionals in the classroom were also placed on administrative leave.

The safety of the students is the highest priority for the school district, and they take any allegations of misconduct seriously. However, angry parents claim that they were only formally notified about the investigation two weeks after the incident took place. One parent, Lisa Luviano, said her daughter had shown her a sticker with images of a moon, stars, and clouds, claiming it was a sleeping sticker given to her by her teacher. Other parents at the school, like Najla Abdullah, also discovered that their children had received similar stickers. Following these revelations, the parents filed a report and expressed their willingness to file criminal charges if the allegations were true.

The SISD has not identified the teachers involved in the incident, but they have stated that the behavior violated the district’s Board Policy FFAC. This policy prohibits employees from giving students prescription medication, nonprescription medication, herbal substances, anabolic steroids, or dietary supplements without proper authorization. Parents are now questioning how long the alleged distribution of sleeping stickers had been happening and whether any other substances had been given to their children. The breach of trust by the teacher has left many parents feeling betrayed and concerned for the well-being of their children.

After coming home from school, children who had received the sleeping stickers reported having trouble sleeping. The parents were understandably upset and worried about the potential effects of the stickers on their children’s health and well-being. The incident has caused a great deal of anger and frustration among the parents at Northgate Elementary School. They are seeking answers and accountability from the school administration regarding the situation. The delay in informing parents about the investigation and the seriousness of the allegations have only added to their concerns and mistrust towards the school.

The district has emphasized that the safety of the students is their top priority and that they are taking the allegations seriously. The teachers involved have been suspended pending the outcome of the police investigation. The school’s response to the incident and the actions taken so far have not assuaged the concerns of the parents at Northgate Elementary School. They are determined to seek justice for their children and ensure that such incidents do not happen again in the future. The community is demanding transparency, accountability, and a thorough investigation into what happened and whether any other children were affected by the alleged conduct of the teachers.
