President-elect Donald Trump’s attorney Mike Davis warned New York Attorney General Letitia James that they would put her in prison for conspiracy against rights. Davis challenged James to continue her legal battles against Trump, stating that they were not messing around this time. In a civil fraud case won by James against Trump, New York State Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron found the president-elect and his sons guilty of overvaluing certain properties, resulting in a penalty of $464 million. Trump was also found guilty of 34 felonies related to falsifying business documents. Davis also warned Jack Smith, the special counsel in Trump federal investigations, to “lawyer up” and urged him to reconsider violating Trump’s or any American’s constitutional rights.

Davis, who is rumored to be a potential attorney general in Trump’s incoming administration, expressed a desire for revenge against Democrats following Trump’s election win. He made inflammatory statements on social media, including a post where he stated a desire to drag their dead bodies through the streets and burn them. Trump, who could potentially pardon himself if convicted of federal crimes, still faces numerous charges in state and federal investigations. Despite pleading not guilty to all charges, the likelihood of him needing a pardon has decreased significantly. Davis warned James that her lawsuit against Trump for fraud was likely to be reversed on appeal and accused her of committing conspiracy against rights, a federal civil rights felony.

Following Trump’s victory, James held a press conference where she expressed preparedness to respond to any actions taken by the new administration. She stated that her office had been studying various possibilities and had contingency plans in place. Newsmax featured Davis claiming that James would be reversed on appeal for her lawsuit against Trump. He asserted that the Trump administration would not have patience for such legal challenges and warned James to step away from the cameras and reflect on her actions. Davis suggested that James had violated the law by weaponizing the justice system against her political enemies.

The contentious relationship between Davis and James centers around legal battles involving Trump, with Davis issuing threats of imprisonment for James and warning of potential legal ramifications for her actions. Davis’s inflammatory statements on social media and in interviews contribute to the heightened tension between the two parties. As Trump prepares to assume office, his legal team appears ready to challenge any legal actions taken against him. James, on the other hand, has indicated readiness to respond to any attacks or attempts to cut funding to New York under the new administration. The ongoing legal battles between Trump, James, and their respective teams highlight the political and legal tensions surrounding the transition of power and potential legal repercussions for high-profile figures.
