Former President Donald Trump criticized the Democratic Party as “fascists” following a day in court that he deemed to be a success. Trump asserted that the voters are seeing through the Democrats’ tactics and don’t agree with their actions. He also referenced a large gathering of supporters in New Jersey over the weekend as evidence of the fear Democrats have of him. Trump continued to read news excerpts slamming the case against him as “election interference” and claimed that Tuesday was a positive day in court where the scam was being exposed for what it truly was. He maintained his innocence throughout the proceedings.

The trial on Tuesday revolved around testimony from former Trump attorney, Michael Cohen, regarding a payment of $130,000 that Cohen made to Stormy Daniels to silence her alleged claims of an affair with Trump. Prosecutors contend that the Trump Organization reimbursed Cohen and falsely recorded the payments as legal fees. They are working to demonstrate that Trump manipulated records with the intent of committing or concealing another crime. Trump denied any wrongdoing and has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Cohen faced intense questioning from Trump’s legal team regarding his TikTok videos criticizing the former president and expressing his desire to see Trump held accountable.

Cohen’s testimony on Tuesday continued from the previous day when he admitted to using his own funds to pay Daniels and recording Trump secretly on his iPhone. The New York Supreme Court Appellate Division rejected the Trump team’s attempt to lift a gag order imposed by Judge Juan Merchan, who fined Trump $10,000 for violating the order multiple times. Trump’s legal team plans to appeal the decision to the New York Court of Appeals, citing the gag order as unconstitutional. The trial also witnessed a strong presence of Trump allies, including potential 2024 contenders, who denounced the trial as a “sham” and criticized the judge for not recusing himself due to his daughter’s work as a Democratic consultant.

The allies held a press conference where they vehemently defended Trump and decried the trial as un-American and reminiscent of a third-world dictatorship rather than the United States. They accused the judge of mishandling the case and allowing personal biases to affect the proceedings. The trial is set to resume on Thursday with Cohen expected to continue his cross-examination. The prosecution revealed that Cohen is their last witness in the case, indicating that the trial may be near its conclusion. Trump and his legal team maintain his innocence and are determined to fight the charges brought against him. Despite the setbacks in court, Trump’s supporters remain steadfast in their belief in his innocence and loyalty to him as their leader.
