The City of Toronto is hosting its annual Victoria Day fireworks display at Ashbridges Bay Park this weekend. The show is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. and will include beautiful fireworks and a spectacular finale. Attendees are encouraged to use public transit as personal fireworks are not permitted in parks, beaches, streets, parking lots, balconies or on property not owned by the person setting off the fireworks.

The Toronto Police Service has implemented a policing plan for the long weekend, with various resources such as the mounted unit, officers on foot, ATVs, bikes, and other emergency services and by-law officers in the Ashbridges Bay area from Friday to Monday. Parking enforcement will also be increased over the holiday weekend, with drivers advised to expect major delays due to road closures. Additional TTC buses will be added to routes to accommodate the influx of visitors.

Closures on Monday will include Coxwell Avenue from Lake Shore Boulevard East to Eastern Avenue, as well as Lake Shore Boulevard East from Leslie Street to Queen Street East. Bonfires, personal fireworks, and alcohol are prohibited in parks and on beaches, with police stressing that they will be closely monitoring security issues this weekend and making adjustments as necessary to ensure public safety.

In 2022, the Ashbridges Bay area experienced significant mayhem and crime over the Victoria Day long weekend. As a result, police will be vigilant in maintaining security and will disperse crowds or lay charges if there is a threat to public safety or obstruction of officers or emergency services. If necessary, investigations and arrests may continue even after the event has concluded to ensure the safety and security of attendees.

Overall, the City of Toronto is preparing for a busy long weekend with the Victoria Day fireworks display at Ashbridges Bay Park. Public transit is encouraged, parking restrictions will be in place, and personal fireworks, bonfires, and alcohol are strictly prohibited. The Toronto Police Service will have a strong presence in the area with various resources to ensure the safety of attendees and will take action if any security issues arise. Visitors are advised to follow the rules and regulations in place to enjoy a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend.
