During the third night of the Democratic National Convention, Democrats continued to criticize former President Donald Trump, with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries likening him to a jilted ex who won’t go away. Jeffries emphasized that there is no reason for the American people to consider rekindling a relationship with Trump, citing his track record as a “chaos agent” during his presidency. He urged voters to remember that they had already broken up with Trump for a reason and should not entertain the idea of getting back together.

Former President Bill Clinton took a jab at Trump’s rally ramblings, questioning what world leaders might think when they hear Trump reference movies like “Silence of the Lambs.” Clinton expressed confusion over the strange references and criticized Trump’s behavior. Maryland Gov. Wes Moore also took a swipe at Trump, highlighting his military service and contrasting it with Trump’s avoidance of the draft during the Vietnam War by claiming bone spurs. Moore humorously mentioned that he had to ask his mom to sign his enlistment paperwork because he didn’t have bone spurs.

TV legend Oprah Winfrey delivered an impassioned speech at the convention, taking aim at Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, and his derogatory comments about “childless cat ladies” running America. Winfrey emphasized the importance of unity and helping neighbors in times of need, regardless of differences. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, a vice presidential candidate, criticized Project 2025, a far-right policy document associated with Trump’s inner circle. Walz labeled the agenda as “weird,” but also highlighted the dangerous and wrong aspects of the policies outlined.

During the convention, Kenan Thompson, a longtime cast member of “Saturday Night Live,” humorously presented the oversized Project 2025 book, jokingly comparing it to a document that could kill a small animal and democracy at the same time. He likened it to the terms and conditions from a software company, highlighting the implications of the agenda. The Democratic speakers consistently emphasized the need to reject Trump and his allies, promoting unity and progress under a new leadership. They criticized Trump’s behavior, policies, and rhetoric, appealing to voters to support the Democratic ticket in the upcoming election.
