Former President Donald Trump recently took to the campaign trail with a rally at Wildwood, New Jersey, which was the largest of his 2024 White House run so far. The rally was attended by tens of thousands of supporters who crowded the sands to greet him. Trump boarded his recently refurbished plane, Trump Force One, at LaGuardia, where he greeted staffers and guests along the aisle. The plane featured white leather seats, shiny paneled walls, and a large TV screen that played live footage of the rally site as Trump made his way toward the event.

National press secretary Karoline Leavitt explained the reasoning behind holding a rally in New Jersey, a state that Trump lost by double digits in both the 2016 and 2020 elections. She mentioned that Trump had held a rally in the exact same location in 2020 and had received great enthusiasm, prompting him to return. Leavitt stated that they were expecting a massive crowd, with reports suggesting there were already more than 80,000 people in attendance. She also took a swipe at President Biden’s campaign, claiming that they could never achieve such a large crowd.

Trump showed excitement as he caught sight of the huge crowd gathered on the sand, with TV cameras capturing their wild cheers upon seeing his distinctive red, white, and blue plane. Leavitt highlighted the enthusiasm in New Jersey and other areas visited by Trump, stating that the people in those states were fed up with Biden’s regime. Trump spent the flight prepping for his appearance with his speechwriter and advisors. North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and his wife were also on the flight, sparking speculation about Burgum potentially being a running mate contender.

New Jersey’s status as the highest-taxed state in the country was blamed on Biden’s economic policies by Leavitt, with the people of the state realizing they needed Trump to improve their lives. Trump focused on preparing for his speech with his team, including close advisors and potential running mate contenders like Gov. Burgum. The presence of longtime Trump aide Walt Nauta, who was under indictment in Trump’s classified documents case in Florida, also raised eyebrows. The Trump campaign believed that the people of New Jersey were ready for change and could potentially play a crucial role in the upcoming election.
