Taylor Swift’s latest single, “Fortnight,” a collaboration with Post Malone, is quickly climbing the Billboard airplay charts. While the song has become an instant hit on some rankings, it is taking a few weeks to rise to the top on the radio lists. In addition to the success of “Fortnight,” Swift’s previous track, “Bad Blood (Taylor’s Version),” has made a surprising return to the Adult Contemporary chart.

“Bad Blood (Taylor’s Version)” has reappeared at No. 26 on the Adult Contemporary chart, marking its highest position since March of this year. The song has now spent a total of eight weeks on the chart, with many of those weeks being one-off appearances before quickly disappearing. Despite never being pushed as a proper single, the success of “Bad Blood (Taylor’s Version)” on the radio charts has raised eyebrows.

The fact that “Bad Blood (Taylor’s Version)” has returned and is performing as well as ever during a busy period for Swift is unexpected. The singer-songwriter has been focusing on promoting “Fortnight” and other hit singles, making the resurgence of “Bad Blood (Taylor’s Version)” even more surprising. The song was featured on Swift’s album 1989 (Taylor’s Version), which she re-recorded to regain control of her music following the sale of rights to much of her catalog.

The original version of “Bad Blood” was also a hit on the Adult Contemporary chart, debuting in June 2015 and peaking at No. 9 that September. “Bad Blood (Taylor’s Version)” is one of five hits Swift currently has on the Adult Contemporary radio ranking, with other singles such as “Cruel Summer,” “Anti-Hero,” “Is It Over Now? (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault),” and “Fortnight” either maintaining their positions or climbing the charts. Despite not being a promoted single, “Bad Blood (Taylor’s Version)” continues to resonate with listeners and make its mark on the airplay charts.
