Taylor Swift has officially joined the ranks of billionaires, according to Forbes’ annual Billionaires List. She is one of 14 celebrities on the list, with a collective net worth of $31 billion. Swift became a billionaire last October, largely due to the success of her record-breaking Eras Tour, which grossed over $1 billion. This tour, which has dates scheduled through 2024, marked the first time a musician has become a billionaire solely based on their songs and performances, without relying on other sources of income.

Forbes estimates Swift’s current net worth at about $1.1 billion. A large portion of her fortune comes from music royalties and touring, with an estimated $500 million from each. Additionally, the increasing value of her music catalog, which she has been re-recording and releasing, has contributed to her wealth. Real estate investments make up approximately $125 million of her net worth. Swift’s fellow musician billionaires include Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Jimmy Buffet, but Swift is the only one to achieve this status without a side-hustle.

Looking ahead, fans can anticipate the release of Swift’s 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Departments,” on April 19. The album, which includes 16 songs and a bonus track, will be available in four variations, each with a different bonus track. Swift’s successful 2023 also included being named Time Magazine’s Person of the Year, starting a relationship with NFL player Travis Kelce, and releasing the “Eras Tour” film, which brought in over $261 million worldwide. Swift’s efforts to re-record her first six albums, in response to the sale of their rights by Scooter Braun, have been a key focus for her.

George Lucas, known for his work on “Star Wars,” is the wealthiest celebrity on this year’s Billionaires List. Jay-Z and Rihanna are the only other musicians included in the list of 14. Swift’s continued success and rise to billionaire status reinforce her status as one of the most influential and financially successful artists in the music industry. With ongoing projects and ventures in the works, Swift’s presence in the billionaire club is likely to continue growing in the years to come.
