T.J. Holmes was taken to the hospital after suffering an injury during the Chicago Marathon, where he was running alongside Amy Robach. Robach shared the news on social media, posting a photo of Holmes on a stretcher inside an ambulance with his legs strapped in. Holmes later shared an update of his own, posting a photo of himself looking exhausted on the stretcher with a caption indicating that his Achilles had given out. The couple had been participating in the marathon together, showcasing their shared love of running.

Prior to the injury, Robach and Holmes had been running together in the marathon, with Robach posting a smiling selfie of the two of them running alongside a crowd of participants. The former Good Morning America co-anchors, who recently revealed that they are living together full-time, have competed in other running events together, including the New York City Half Marathon. Their shared interest in running has brought them closer together as a couple, especially after both went through divorces in the past.

Robach had been previously married to Andrew Shue, from whom she reportedly separated in August and subsequently filed for divorce in December of the same year. Holmes, on the other hand, had been married to attorney Marilee Fiebig, from whom he reportedly separated around the same time and also filed for divorce. The couple faced some challenges when details of their romance went public, with some GMA coworkers cutting ties with them after finding out about their relationship. Despite the backlash, Robach and Holmes continued to support each other and eventually moved in together.

During an episode of their podcast, “Amy & T.J.,” Robach shared that after the news of their romance went public, they were met with mixed reactions from their coworkers. While some showed support, others distanced themselves from the couple. Holmes expressed frustration with the fake sentiments and hypocrisy of some of their coworkers, indicating that their support was not genuine. Robach admitted that after they were let go from their jobs, many of their colleagues disappeared from their lives, showing a lack of true friendship and support.

The couple’s journey through divorce, public scrutiny, and challenges in their professional lives has brought them closer together as partners. Despite facing backlash and losing relationships along the way, Robach and Holmes have continued to support each other through it all. Their shared love of running has provided them with a sense of camaraderie and shared experiences that have helped them navigate the ups and downs of their personal and professional lives. Through it all, they have remained committed to each other and continue to move forward as a united couple.
