A 7-Eleven store clerk in Anaheim, California, was brutally attacked by about 50 suspects in a flash mob style incident. The attack, part of a string of similar incidents across Southern California, involved the suspects forcefully entering convenience stores to steal items and cash. Surveillance footage shows the clerk, identified as Narender, trying to defend himself with a stick, while one of the suspects threw a large rock at him. The suspects ignored Narender’s pleas to stop and swore at him as he defended his store. Narender, who speaks Hindi, had only been working at the 7-Eleven for five months.

In Orange County, more than a dozen flash mob crimes have occurred since July, with teenagers biking to convenience stores, forcing their way inside, and robbing the stores. The Los Angeles Police Department has been investigating the incidents, with parents even turning in their own children for participating in the criminal activities. The LAPD issued a press release calling the incidents “Flash Robberies,” involving between 20 and 40 suspects. Most of the incidents occurred on Friday nights, with suspects described as young males, possibly teenagers of varied ethnicities and physical descriptions.

Local residents expressed concern over the flash mob robberies, with one resident stating that stopping the suspects at a young age could prevent them from escalating their criminal behavior. The suspects have been captured on security surveillance videos engaging in criminal activities such as removing merchandise, damaging property, and fleeing without paying. In some instances, witnesses were physically pushed by the suspects during the take-over of the stores. The LAPD warned the public to be cautious of the youthful male suspects involved in these flash mob crimes.

The Los Angeles Times reported that parents were reporting their children for participating in flash mob robberies at convenience stores in late September. The LAPD stated that the suspects showed no regard for others’ safety during the criminal takeovers of the stores. With incidents escalating in violence, the LAPD urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement. Fox News obtained video footage shared on Instagram, showing the mob suspects ignoring Narender’s pleas to stop and verbally assaulting him as he tried to defend himself and his store.
