Jordan Taylor left his job at Nvidia to start Vizcom, a company focused on creating software to help industrial designers be more efficient. With initial funding and big-name customers like Ford and New Balance, Vizcom has now raised $20 million led by Index Ventures to expand its R&D, hiring, and marketing efforts. The company’s revenue is in the single-digit millions, and its valuation is now at $100 million.

Index Ventures partner Nina Achadjian compared Taylor to other young successful founders the firm has backed, citing his passion, vision, and customer obsession as key factors in Vizcom’s success. While larger companies like Adobe and Autodesk have long dominated the industrial design software space, Vizcom offers a unique platform allowing designers to create realistic renderings and explore variations quickly and efficiently.

Taylor and his co-founder Richards, who have known each other since fifth grade, started Vizcom in Taylor’s living room, eating Costco hotdogs to save money. After joining the AI Grant accelerator and raising $5 million in seed funding, Vizcom quickly garnered attention from enterprise customers like Ford and New Balance. As the company continues to add AI capabilities to its software, it aims to streamline the design process and seamlessly integrate with 3D printing technology.

With a growing base of enterprise customers and individual users, Vizcom is expanding its software offerings to include new 3D modeling capabilities. Taylor envisions a future where designers can move directly from a rendering in the software to a physical prototype through a 3D printer. The company’s focus on innovation and efficiency has positioned it as a key player in the industrial design software market and has attracted significant investment from venture capital firms.

Vizcom’s success can be attributed to Taylor’s entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to creating a product that addresses the needs of industrial designers. By leveraging AI technology and focusing on user experience, the company has been able to differentiate itself in a competitive market. As Vizcom continues to grow and evolve, it aims to revolutionize the design process and provide designers with the tools they need to bring their ideas to life.

Moving forward, Vizcom plans to further develop its software capabilities and expand its customer base. With a strong foundation and a clear vision for the future, the company is well-positioned to continue making an impact in the industrial design industry. Taylor’s journey from leaving his job to founding a successful startup serves as inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs looking to make their mark in the world of technology and innovation.
