A Singaporean man, Brayden Ong, and his Malaysian girlfriend, Wang Wee Ching, were charged in Johor for allegedly trafficking over 3kg of drugs. They were accused of running a drug processing laboratory in a terrace house in Johor and distributing drugs in Malaysia and neighboring countries. Police believed that they were also producing vape liquid containing drugs and distributing drugs in small quantities through syndicate members acting as runners. The couple was arrested during police raids on August 17, with Ong being apprehended first at a house containing equipment, tools, and chemicals to process drugs, followed by Wang at a roadside in another location.
During the raids, more than RM2 million worth of drugs were seized from various locations linked to the couple, including ecstasy powder and liquid, erimin 5 pills, ecstasy pills, epam nitrazepam pills, and syabu. Cash amounting to about RM130,000 and S$100, drug processing equipment, precursor chemicals, a car, jewelry, and three bank accounts totaling RM630,596 were also confiscated. Following their arrests, Ong and Wang tested positive for drugs. On Thursday, they were charged with trafficking 2,667g of methamphetamine and 457.1g of MDMA powder, as well as possessing 1.85g of nimetazepam and 2,240ml of liquid MDMA on August 17. Wang faced additional charges of trafficking over 1kg of MDMA on the same day, with potential penalties including life imprisonment or the death penalty if convicted.
