Sheriff Mike Boudreaux of Tulare County, California, was upset to find that his image was used in a political ad for Kamala Harris without his permission. Boudreaux clarified that he does not endorse Harris for President or any other political office and accused the ad of distorting the truth. He recalled a visit Harris made to the Central Valley in 2013 as the California attorney general, where she did not make an effort to interact with local law enforcement. Boudreaux criticized Harris for not doing enough to stop illegal border crossings during her time in office and claimed that she was taking credit for the work done by local law enforcement.

Boudreaux’s political action committee, Golden State Justice, also released a statement criticizing Harris for undercutting efforts by California law enforcement officials to combat criminal activity crossing the border. They accused Harris of defunding and shutting down task forces designed to protect residents, leaving the Valley and the state vulnerable. The statement labeled Harris’s attempt to portray herself as tough on the border as pathetic, questioning her effectiveness in addressing the border crisis. Boudreaux expressed frustration over the layoffs and job losses that occurred due to the Department of Justice’s actions during Harris’s time as California Attorney General.

The ad promoted Harris’s work as a border state prosecutor and her plans to hire thousands more border agents and crack down on fentanyl and human trafficking. However, Boudreaux and his PAC pointed out inconsistencies between Harris’s claims in the ad and the reality of the situation at the time. Boudreaux highlighted the disparities between Harris’s public image and her actions during her tenure, alleging that she was eliminating task forces and not effectively addressing the issues at the border. He emphasized that the ad was misleading and dismissed Harris’s claims of being tough on border security as smoke and mirrors, stating his lack of support for her.

Boudreaux described his experience during Harris’s visit to Central Valley in 2013, where he and other law enforcement officers were featured in the political ad. He recollected a sense of disrespect from Harris during the event, noting that she did not engage with the local officials and merely focused on her press conference before leaving. Boudreaux criticized Harris for taking credit for the work done by law enforcement officials in the area without acknowledging their efforts. He expressed his disgust over Harris’s behavior during the visit and her portrayal of herself as a tough border enforcer in the ad, noting the discrepancies between her public image and her actions in reality.

Sheriff Boudreaux emphasized that the ad featuring him in support of Harris misrepresented the truth of the situation during her time as California Attorney General. He refuted Harris’s claims of being tough on border security and suggested that her policies and decisions had negative consequences for law enforcement and the community. Boudreaux’s statements and actions highlighted his opposition to Harris’s political agenda and his frustration with her portrayal in the ad. He urged viewers to research and question the claims made by politicians like Harris to understand the reality behind their promises and rhetoric.
