Rapper and singer Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, have been charged with committing more than a million dollars’ worth of fraud. Kingston, 34, was arrested in California and waived his right to fight extradition to Florida, where he and his mother were charged with conducting an organized scheme to defraud, grand theft, identity theft, and related crimes. They are accused of stealing money, jewelry, a Cadillac Escalade, and furniture.

Kingston, who had a No. 1 hit with “Beautiful Girls” in 2007 and collaborated with Justin Bieber on the song “Eenie Meenie,” was booked into the Broward County jail in Florida. His mother, Turner, was arrested when a SWAT team raided his rented mansion in Fort Lauderdale. Their attorney, Robert Rosenblatt, said they looked forward to addressing the charges in court and were confident of a successful resolution.

The warrants in the case allege that Kingston and Turner stole almost $500,000 in jewelry, over $200,000 from Bank of America, $160,000 from the Escalade dealer, more than $100,000 from First Republic Bank, and $86,000 from the maker of customized beds. Specific details of how the money was stolen were not provided. Kingston, whose legal name is Kisean Anderson, was already on probation for trafficking stolen property.

Kingston was arrested at an Army training base in California’s Mojave Desert, where he was performing, and agreed to be turned over to authorities in Florida. The warrants released by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office detailed the charges against him and his mother. They have been accused of committing fraud, grand theft, identity theft, and other related crimes in a scheme that involved stealing various valuables and money from different sources.

The swift arrest of Kingston and his mother came after a raid on Kingston’s mansion in Fort Lauderdale by a SWAT team. The charges against them stem from alleged criminal activities that took place between October to March and involved significant sums of money and assets. Kingston’s music career had previously seen success with chart-topping hits, but now he and his mother are facing serious legal consequences for their alleged fraudulent activities.

Despite the serious charges against them, Kingston and Turner have expressed confidence in a successful resolution to their legal case. Their attorney has stated that they are prepared to address the allegations in a Florida court and are ready to defend themselves against the accusations of fraud and theft. The outcome of the case remains to be seen, but Kingston and Turner are now facing legal repercussions for their alleged involvement in a million-dollar fraud scheme.
