Jack Antonoff, known as a “pop music hoarder,” recently collaborated with Sabrina Carpenter on her sixth album, Short n’ Sweet, with Antonoff producing much of the album. Carpenter defended Antonoff’s production style against critics, praising his talent and ability to work quickly. Antonoff, in turn, praised Carpenter as one of the biggest young pop stars on the rise. Their collaboration resulted in the release of the single “Please Please Please” in June 2024, which Antonoff described as a statement of expressing oneself both lyrically and sonically.

Antonoff has worked with a variety of A-list artists, often defending them against criticism. One of his most well-known collaborations is with Taylor Swift, with whom he has worked on several albums, including those that won Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards. Additionally, Antonoff collaborated with Lana Del Rey on her albums Norman F–king Rockwell!, Chemtrails Over the Country Club, and Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. He also served as the sole producer on Sabrina Carpenter’s single “Please Please Please.”

In addition to the above collaborations, Antonoff has worked with artists such as Carly Rae Jepsen, The Chicks, Maren Morris, Kendrick Lamar, Sara Bareilles, St. Vincent, Florence & The Machine, Lorde, and FKA Twigs. Each of these collaborations has resulted in the creation of unique and critically acclaimed music. Antonoff’s collaboration with Lorde on her albums Melodrama and Solar Power was particularly noteworthy, with Lorde emphasizing that her records are her own despite Antonoff’s contributions.

Antonoff’s collaboration with Florence Welch on her album Dance Fever led to further success, with Welch also featured on Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department, which Antonoff produced. Outside of music production, Antonoff has also sought advice from artists like Welch on composing his first Broadway show. This demonstrates the strong relationships Antonoff has built with artists beyond just the music studio.

Overall, Antonoff’s work as a producer and collaborator has been met with critical acclaim and commercial success. Despite some mixed reviews of his production style, he has continued to work with a wide range of artists, producing a diverse array of music. His ability to connect with artists on a personal and creative level has led to numerous successful collaborations and projects, solidifying his position as a highly esteemed and sought-after producer in the music industry.
