Travis Kelce is grateful for his “very strong relationship” with girlfriend Taylor Swift.
“I’m enjoying all aspects of life that’s for damn sure,” Kelce, 35, gushed during a Wednesday, January 15, appearance on the Stephen A. Smith Show. “Me and Taylor are happy and I couldn’t be happier to have that confidence and that comfort off the field and all the support I could ever ask for in the stadium.”
Kelce and Swift, 35, have been together since summer 2023 after he attended one of her Eras Tour concerts in Kansas City armed with a DIY friendship bracelet that became synonymous with her shows. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end had hoped to give the bracelet to Swift — which featured his phone number — but was unable to meet the pop star. The three-time Super Bowl champ famously recalled the perceived rejection on his “New Heights” podcast later in July 2023.
After Swift heard Kelce’s plan while listening to the podcast episode, she privately reached out. The pair went public the following September when Swift attended her first Chiefs game.
Now, Swift is a staple at Kelce’s football games. (Throughout the 2024-2025 season, she attended nearly every home game at KC’s Arrowhead Stadium.)
“I think, personally, the beauty of being in a very strong relationship is that you get that support to be able to come in and focus on your craft, focus on being the best version of you,” Kelce added on Wednesday. “That’s why I wanted to be at [her] concerts supporting her and being there for her, making sure she feels comfortable and supported in everything she’s doing in life.”
In between publicly sharing his support for Swift, Kelce asserted that he remains “focused as [he’s] ever been” on the football field.
“I’m as focused as I’ve ever been on my job and being the best player that I could possibly be week-in-week-out for this team,” he said. “It’s because I don’t have to worry about things off the field.”
Kelce had a slow start to the current NFL season, which certain critics blamed on his frequent travel to see Swift perform on stage. (She wrapped her Eras Tour in December 2024, capped off with a celebratory surprise party organized by Kelce.)
“You have to be true to yourself,” he told Smith, referring to the criticism of his relationship. “People are saying things [and] you’ve got to be able to reflect and look at yourself and see, ‘Why are they saying these things?’ I was still playing at a high level knowing all that. We were winning football games, which is all I ever care about and, on top of that, this building knew how hard I worked and how much focus I have on football throughout the year.”
Kelce and the Chiefs secured the No. 1 seed in the AFC and are gearing up for the divisional round of the playoffs on Saturday, January 18, for a chance to play in the conference championship and, hopefully, the Super Bowl.
