The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills newcomer Jennifer Tilly is certainly thankful for the success of her ex-husband, Sam Simon.
“My ex-husband was Sam Simon who created The Simpsons. I was married to him for seven years. We were together for about 10 years,” Jennifer, 66, revealed during her confessional on the Tuesday, December 3 episode of RHOBH. “When we got divorced, I got a piece of The Simpsons in the divorce settlement.”
Jennifer was married to Sam, now 59, from 1984 until 1991. (She has since moved on with Phil Laak, who she has been with since 2004. Sam married Jami Ferrell in 2000.)
“Nobody knew that The Simpsons was going to go on for trillions of years,” she added. “Every day, honestly, every day I’m like, ‘Thank you, Sam.’”

The conversation about Jennifer’s past marriage came during the RHOBH women’s cast trip to Oceanside. During their picnic lunch on the beach, Dorit Kemsley was confiding in Bozoma Saint John about her separation from PK Kemsley after nine years of marriage. (The couple announced their split in May and the season 14 premiere was focused on the aftermath.)
“It seems like things are just ongoing and ongoing,” Jennifer said of Dorit. “It must be awfully stressful.”
The newbie also noted in her confessional that it “takes a really long time to get over a divorce.”
While Dorit and PK have yet to file for divorce, in Tuesday’s episode things appeared to take a turn in their relationship after a dinner that played out during the previous week’s show.
“When PK and I separated, we decided we were going to have very open communication for the kids,” Dorit said in her confessional. “That was the only way for us to shield them from what was going on.”

However, she knew “nothing” about PK signing a lease on an apartment. She said that the decision was “impulsive” and felt it was “not very considerate” of him.

Dorit told Us Weekly exclusively while promoting RHOBH last month that “things don’t stay amicable” between herself and PK as the season continues.
“Don’t forget, we had just separated when I filmed the show. Now here we are, some months later,” she shared. “You definitely will see that journey in the season, and that will give you very good insight as to what we’re dealing with.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Bravo Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET and streams the next day on Peacock.
