Mayor Eric Adams ripped his primary rival Andrew Cuomo’s supposed reputation as a “great manager” Monday — noting the former governor is to blame for nursing home deaths during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hizzoner joined grieving New York families and other 2025 mayoral candidates, both Democrat and Republican, who have slammed the three-term governor’s handling of the pandemic as he makes a comeback bid for City Hall.

“He incorrectly handled the nursing home issues,” he told reporters about Cuomo.

“Some people say, ‘He’s a great manager. Well, he darn sure managed that crisis well,’” Adams said sarcastically.

The mayor’s criticism came a day after relatives of nursing home residents who died during the pandemic excoriated Cuomo for his disastrous directive telling the facilities to take in COVID-19 patients — a move some estimates found resulted in the premature deaths of about 15,000 people.

Democratic mayoral candidates Adrienne Adams, Brad Lander, Zohran Mamdani, Jessica Ramos and Scott Stringer attended the families’ Sunday rally, along with Republican Curtis Sliwa and independent Jim Walden.

The mayor said he has been in touch with those families, and went further in criticizing Cuomo’s COVID record — which the ex-governor continues to tout, despite the controversies.

Adams argued there was a “racial disparity” in how Cuomo handled the pandemic, from the distribution of personal protective equipment to the distribution of vaccines.

During the pandemic, many black and brown lawmakers — including City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams — argued there were disparities in the locations of vaccine and testing sites across the city.

A spokesman for Cuomo claimed the mayor shouldn’t “Monday morning quarterback” such issues.

“New Yorkers are smart: they know the Mayor is a desperate man who is an Agent of Trump, and desperate men will do or say anything,” said Rich Azzopardi’s, Cuomo’s spokesman.

Adams also trained fire at other mayoral challengers, too.

When asked by The Post about his contention to Jewish leaders last week that an antisemite is running for mayor, Adams wouldn’t name names.

But he did provide a hint: any candidate aligned with the Democratic Socialists of America.

Lander, the current city comptroller, and Mamdani, the Queens state Assemblyman whose campaign has seen a recent surge of support, both fit that bill.

Lander, for his part, blasted Cuomo on Monday for drawing campaign contributions from donors allied with President Trump.

“New York City deserves a Mayor who will stand up to Trump, not bend the knee like Andrew Cuomo and Eric Adams,” he said in a statement.
