Speaking on behalf of the shelter, Gemma Williams, a volunteer based in the U.K., told Newsweek the four puppies were left outside of the shelter in the night, so that whoever left them was not caught.”The puppies seemingly came from living in a house, as they were not hungry and were clean.” She added: “We can only assume that somebody’s pet dog had given birth, and they didn’t know what to do with the puppies. There are thousands of dogs left on the streets in North Macedonia.”Williams went on to explain that temperatures in North Macedonia at the moment are as high as 104 F and dogs on the streets are dying from the heat. There’s an even greater risk for puppies, who often don’t survive these conditions.”Initially, Marija thought there were just three puppies, but while in the shelter, she could hear the fourth, crying. She went back out to find him hiding under the shade of a piece of cardboard.”We think the puppies are around two months old. They are all OK at the moment, but the risk for them is high. The shelter will now pay to vaccinate them, feed them, and hopefully get them ready for adoption. It will be at least two months before they can be adopted.”The shelter is currently hosting almost 100 dogs, and is hoping to find loving homes for the puppies as soon as they’re ready to go. @happyshelterdogs#adoptdontshop #abandoned #puppies #why #heartbreaking Friends just this morning @macapotochan found dumped outside the shelter 4 puppies as you know the shelter is under constant pressure to rehome and the deadly summer heat dog food bills veterinary costs.
