Rev. Franklin Graham, the CEO of both Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, recently visited Valdosta, Georgia with former president Donald Trump to offer assistance and comfort to those affected by Hurricane Helene’s devastation. The official death toll is over 125, with concerns that the number of casualties may be even higher. Roads, bridges, homes, and businesses have been destroyed, leaving many people stranded and in need of supplies. Samaritan’s Purse is providing aid in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Tennessee in response to the disaster.

Graham emphasized that the response to the hurricane would require the efforts of an “army of volunteers and people.” He expressed the organization’s commitment to always respond in Jesus’ name, ensuring that those impacted know that God loves and cares for them. Samaritan’s Purse disaster relief specialists arrived on Friday to start assessments of the situation. Graham reassured those affected that despite the storms in life, God will help them through if they place their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. He also thanked Trump for bringing attention to the city, state, and region that have suffered significant losses.

Samaritan’s Purse has been working to clear debris, restore power, and deliver supplies to affected areas. Two disaster relief units equipped with tools and equipment were deployed from North Carolina to serve as a base for volunteer teams. The organization is also responding in western North Carolina by setting up a field hospital unit in the Watauga Medical Center parking lot to provide oxygen to patients without power at home. The category 4 hurricane made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region with winds of 140 mph and a devastating storm surge, causing widespread destruction as it moved through Georgia, the Carolinas, and the Tennessee Valley.

In response to the hurricane’s impact, Fox Corporation initiated a donation drive for the American Red Cross Hurricane Helene relief efforts. The organization is seeking support in the form of donations to assist in the recovery and relief efforts. The devastation caused by Hurricane Helene has left many communities in need of assistance, with homes, businesses, and infrastructure destroyed. Samaritan’s Purse is working tirelessly to help those affected by the storm, emphasizing the importance of faith and trust in God during challenging times. The relief efforts include the clearing of debris, restoration of power, and distribution of essential supplies to affected areas.

As the recovery efforts continue in the wake of Hurricane Helene, numerous communities in the southeastern United States are grappling with the aftermath of the storm. Samaritan’s Purse is actively engaged in providing aid to those in need, with a focus on offering comfort and support in Jesus’ name. Despite the devastation caused by the hurricane, the organization remains committed to assisting those impacted and ensuring they receive the help they require. Graham’s message of faith and trust in God during difficult times resonates with those affected by the storm, offering hope and encouragement as they navigate the challenges of rebuilding and recovering from the disaster.
