This week’s Pet of the Week winners are Alyssa and Scout, two rescue dogs who are inseparable and live with their owner Maya Gottfried in Hudson Valley, New York. Gottfried works at Dutchess County SPCA and fell in love with Alyssa when she was taking her to a radio appearance. After discovering that Alyssa got along with her dog Scout, Gottfried took her home as a foster and eventually adopted her. In a heartwarming video, Scout can be seen stepping in to help Alyssa with her cues, showcasing their strong bond.

One finalist for Pet of the Week is Maizy, a poodle mix rescue living in Los Angeles with her owner Deborah Israel. Maizy, who was adopted three months ago, is described as smart and loving to cuddle. Another finalist is Major, a ginger cat who came into his owner’s life at a time when she needed him the most. Major was left behind by his previous owner and has become a source of joy for Dr. Earleen Harris-Young after going through a difficult period of loss.

Marley and Louie, two puppies who have become best friends, round out the Pet of the Week lineup. Owner Starr Harrison initially fostered them as puppies, hoping to find a friend for Louie. However, after seeing the bond between Marley and Louie, Harrison ended up adopting Marley as well. The pair now live happily together, showcasing the joy that pets can bring into our lives.
