A pro-Biden super PAC backed by tech billionaires Dustin Moskovitz and Reid Hoffman is launching a social media campaign to counter former President Donald Trump’s successes. The group, Future Forward USA Action, is raising $10 million for the project, which will include analyzing how social media algorithms have helped Republicans share videos of Biden looking awkward or confused. Future Forward also aims to recruit left-leaning social media influencers to promote pro-Biden content, particularly on TikTok where Trump has gained millions of followers compared to Biden’s smaller following.

Recent videos of Biden, including one where he stood awkwardly at a fundraiser in Los Angeles and another where he appeared to wander away from other world leaders during a skydiving demonstration, have sparked concerns about his mental fitness. These videos have been widely shared on social media by Trump allies and the Republican National Committee, contributing to speculation about Biden’s health. The super PAC’s campaign aims to combat these negative narratives and improve Biden’s online presence.

The White House has pushed back against the perception created by these videos, with White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre accusing Trump’s allies and right-wing media of spreading “cheap fakes” and misinformation about Biden. Some of the videos have been deceptively edited, such as the footage from the G7 summit, where the context of Biden’s actions was misrepresented. Despite the criticism, the campaign to boost Biden’s image through social media is moving forward in an attempt to counter the narrative being pushed by Trump’s supporters.

Future Forward’s social media campaign comes at a time when Biden’s online presence lags behind that of Trump, who has gained millions of followers on platforms like TikTok in a short period. The super PAC’s efforts to enlist influencers and produce pro-Biden content aim to close this gap and challenge Trump’s dominance on social media. By analyzing how Republicans have successfully used social media algorithms to share unflattering videos of Biden, the organization hopes to develop strategies to counter these narratives and shape a more positive image of the president online.

As Biden continues to face scrutiny over his mental fitness and competence, the campaign to improve his social media presence becomes increasingly important. Recent videos showing him in awkward situations have fueled doubts among some Americans about his ability to lead effectively. However, the super PAC’s efforts to engage with social media influencers and produce content in support of Biden demonstrate a commitment to combating these negative narratives and presenting a more positive image of the president to the public. Despite criticisms and challenges, Future Forward appears determined to make significant strides in promoting Biden’s message and countering the influence of his opponents on social media platforms.
