The search for missing Texas mom of four Suzanne Simpson has been ongoing for over two weeks, with her husband Brad Simpson facing charges of assault causing bodily injury, family violence, and unlawful restraint for an incident on Oct. 6. Brad’s attorney, Steven Gilmore, has called the charges against him “ludicrous” and believes they are meant to keep him in custody. Brad intends to plead not guilty, despite being held in administrative segregation at Bexar County Jail on a $2 million bond for the misdemeanor charges.

According to Olmos Park Police Chief Fidel Villegas, there was a disturbance between the Simpsons at a club on the night of Oct. 6. A neighbor reported witnessing Brad and Suzanne physically fighting, leading to Suzanne trying to escape his grasp. The neighbor later heard screams coming from a nearby wooded area and saw Brad’s black GMC pickup drive off and return later. However, Gilmore believes the neighbor is not credible and questions his lack of cooperation with law enforcement after Suzanne went missing.

Despite Brad’s lack of cooperation with the police, he reportedly tried to speak with Villegas but was postponed three times. A federal detainer from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for illegally owning a firearm is also keeping Brad behind bars. The federal charge carries up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine, as the surrendered rifle was allegedly not registered with the proper authorities. The investigation into Brad continues, with his attorney challenging the validity of the charges against him.

The search for Suzanne led investigators to her home in Olmos Park, where multiple firearms were surrendered by a family member and turned over to the Olmos Park Police Department. The focus of the search has now shifted to wooded areas surrounding Olmos Park, with no evidence connected to Suzanne’s disappearance found during a search of a local landfill. Suzanne, a luxury real estate agent, was last seen on Oct. 6 wearing a black dress and is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Concerns have been raised about Brad’s lack of cooperation with law enforcement, with family members expressing frustration over his refusal to speak with police. The refusal to cooperate has led to speculation regarding Brad’s involvement in Suzanne’s disappearance, with questions raised about the validity of the charges and the reasons for the high bond amount set by the court. As the search for Suzanne continues, the focus remains on finding evidence that could shed light on her whereabouts and bring closure to her family and loved ones.
