On the other end of the spectrum, Budapest’s metro system was ranked as the worst in Europe due to issues with cleanliness and negative online reactions. The study also identified Paris as having the largest and busiest metro system in Europe, carrying close to 1.5 billion passengers annually. In contrast, Helsinki’s metro system was found to be the least busy in Europe, catering to a smaller population but receiving positive reviews for its efficiency and accessibility.
The London Underground, known for its extensive coverage and high ridership, did not make it to the top of the ranking. Despite its popularity, London’s metro system was critiqued for its confusing layout and large numbers of passengers.
