In addition to the bedtime story mentioned at the garden party, William previously shared that he reads Julia Donaldson’s Room on the Broom to his children before bed. Louis has become a fan-favorite royal for his candid reactions and funny faces at public events over the years. The royal family’s Christmas Day walk in December 2023 was Kate’s last public appearance before being hospitalized for a planned abdominal surgery the following month. After speculation about her health condition, Kate announced in March that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy after doctors discovered cancer. She explained that they had been managing the situation privately for the sake of their young family and that she needed time to recover from surgery before starting treatment.
Despite her continued absence from royal duties, Kate has been working on projects such as the Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, the Shaping Us Campaign, and the Business Taskforce. She is awaiting clearance from her doctors before returning to her official responsibilities.
