On June 21, 1982, Prince William was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in London. He is the oldest son of Diana, Princess of Wales, and King Charles III, and is the heir apparent to the British throne. Prince William’s birth was significant because he was the first direct heir to the throne to be born outside palace walls, breaking royal tradition. His younger brother, Prince Harry, was born in 1984. However, tragedy struck the family in 1997 when Princess Diana was killed in a car accident while trying to escape paparazzi photographers. Prince William was only 15 years old at the time and was deeply affected by his mother’s death.

Prince William chose to study art history at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and met Kate Middleton, who later became his wife, during his time there. They married in 2011 and have since had three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Prince William completed pilot training at the Royal Air Force College Cranwell and also served in the British military for seven-and-a-half years. He is known for his charitable activities and public duties in support of The King, both in the U.K. and overseas. The family’s official residence is Kensington Palace, and Prince William is among the most popular figures of the British Royal Family.

Prince William has sought to promote his mother’s legacy in the years since her death. In 2007, he and Prince Harry organized a London memorial service for Princess Diana, and they commissioned a statue of her that was unveiled at Kensington Palace in 2021. Additionally, Prince William and Kate direct charitable activities through The Royal Foundation, which focuses on addressing challenges in society. In 2020, Prince William launched The Earthshot Prize, a global environmental prize to support groundbreaking solutions to repair and regenerate the planet. The first awards ceremony took place in London in 2021.

Following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, King Charles III was crowned, making Prince William first in line to the British throne. As heir to the throne, Prince William’s main duties include supporting the King in his royal commitments. Throughout his life, Prince William has shown a commitment to philanthropy, environmental advocacy, and promoting his mother’s legacy. He continues to carry out his responsibilities as a member of the British Royal Family with grace and dedication. For more information on Lifestyle articles, visit www.foxnews/lifestyle.
