A dentist, James Craig, was accused of killing his wife, Angela Craig, by putting poison in her protein shakes. Police say that Craig asked a fellow jail inmate to plant letters to make it look like his wife was suicidal. The inmate was asked to put the letters in Craig’s garage and truck at his home. Angela Craig, a mother of six, died in March 2023 of poisoning from cyanide and tetrahydrozoline, a substance found in over-the-counter eye drops. Craig is alleged to have purchased poisons online just before his wife began to experience symptoms that doctors could not find a cause for.

Although Craig’s lawyers have argued that there is no direct evidence that he put poison in his wife’s shakes, police have accused him of biased behavior. Detective Bobbi Olson testified that Craig offered money to pay for the inmate’s bond or perform free dental work in exchange for planting the letters, but the inmate ultimately decided not to support the plan and contacted law enforcement instead. The defense claimed that the inmate was not a credible witness, pointing out that he only contacted authorities after a media-covered hearing to review the evidence in the case and was unable to accurately identify the color of Craig’s truck.

Despite the defense’s arguments, a judge agreed that prosecutors had presented enough evidence for Craig to also be tried on a new charge involving the inmate, which was filed last month. The new charge was solicitation to commit tampering with physical evidence. Craig was already facing charges of first-degree murder and another count of solicitation to commit tampering with physical evidence. He pleaded not guilty to those charges in November 2023. Craig is scheduled to face trial on August 8th.

The case against Craig has brought forward disturbing allegations about his actions following his wife’s death. The manipulation of evidence and attempts to make it look like his wife was suicidal raise questions about Craig’s motives and behavior. The details of the case point to a calculated plan to cover up his potential involvement in his wife’s death. The prosecution’s evidence and witness testimonies suggest a premeditated effort to deceive authorities and mislead the investigation into Angela Craig’s death.

The tragic loss of Angela Craig has left her six children without a mother and raised concerns about the safety and well-being of those closest to James Craig. The elaborate schemes and alleged attempts to frame his wife as suicidal paint a troubling picture of the events leading up to her death. The upcoming trial will likely shed more light on the details of the case and determine the extent of Craig’s involvement in his wife’s poisoning. The legal proceedings will be crucial in delivering justice for Angela Craig and holding James Craig accountable for his actions.
