A 37-year-old Northbridge man has been charged with several offenses after allegedly leading police on a high-speed car chase in a stolen vehicle through over 20 suburbs in Perth. The man reportedly stole a Hyundai i40 station wagon from a shopping center in Mirrabooka on Tuesday afternoon, and two days later, police spotted the stolen car and attempted to stop him on Alexander Drive in Dianella. Instead of complying, the man drove away at high speed, leading officers on a chase through various suburbs including Caversham, Middle Swan, Wattle Grove, Murdoch, Brentwood, Myaree, Melville, and finally Fremantle, where he crashed on Knutsford Street.

During the chase, police allege that the man drove directly at police cars, mounted footpaths, attempted to drive through bollards, and crashed into a garden brick wall of a property on King Street in Fremantle. Following the crash, the man was arrested and charged with 13 offenses, including three counts of stealing, three counts of driving without authority, reckless driving to escape police, and criminal damage and destruction of property. The man is set to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Friday to face these charges, related to the high-speed chase that took place across multiple suburbs in Perth.

The incident began when the man allegedly stole the Hyundai i40 station wagon from a shopping center in Mirrabooka on Tuesday afternoon. Two days later, police spotted the stolen vehicle on Alexander Drive in Dianella and attempted to pull the man over. However, instead of stopping, the man reportedly accelerated and led police on a dangerous chase through more than 20 suburbs in Perth. This dramatic pursuit involved the man driving recklessly, directly at police cars, mounting footpaths, and attempting to escape through various means before crashing in Fremantle.

The chase took police through a wide range of suburbs, starting in Dianella, then moving through Caversham and Middle Swan before heading to Wattle Grove, Murdoch, Brentwood, Myaree, Melville, and finally coming to an end in Fremantle. Along the way, the man allegedly displayed dangerous and erratic driving behavior, causing damage to property and putting the public and law enforcement officers at risk. The swift and high-speed pursuit ultimately resulted in the man crashing on Knutsford Street in Fremantle, where he was apprehended by police and taken into custody.

As a result of his actions during the high-speed chase, the man has been charged with a total of 13 offenses. These charges include multiple counts of stealing, driving without authority, reckless driving to evade police, and causing criminal damage and destruction of property. The 37-year-old Northbridge man is scheduled to make an appearance in Perth Magistrates Court to face these charges, and the legal proceedings will determine the consequences of his alleged actions during the dramatic car chase that unfolded across numerous suburbs in Perth.
