Head, in collaboration with Novak Djokovic, has released a new tennis racket, the Head Speed Legend, which features a glossy black finish that was specifically chosen by Djokovic himself. According to Max Bauer, the global product manager of performance rackets, the racket combines many features that Djokovic loves, making it a special edition to celebrate his unique status in the tennis world. The Head Speed line was initially developed in 2008 when Djokovic joined Head, with a focus on creating a modern power silo with an aerodynamic cross-section for fast swings and higher power.

The Head Speed Legend pays tribute to Djokovic’s 24 major tournament victories and legendary status in the game by giving him a signature feel. The all-black design of the racket, with both a classic black and a see-through lacquer option, allows consumers to see inside the structure while Djokovic’s logo is highlighted with a rainbow design. The Legend frame incorporates the same technology as the mainline Head Speed rackets, including the brand’s Auxetic 2.0 for improved connection to the ball feel, carbon fiber layup for touch and stability, and varying stiffness across the racket for enhanced stability.

Djokovic has a history with Head, having played with the brand as a junior and returning to endorse various versions of the Speed line since 2009, starting with the Youtek IG Speed. The new Legend frame will be available in Pro and MP versions, mirroring the specifications of the black-and-white models released in January and endorsed by Jannik Sinner. In addition to the Speed line update, Head also refreshed its Boost franchise in March, expanding the Boom franchise endorsed by Coco Gauff and Lorenzo Musetti to cater to players of all levels.

The Head Speed Legend stands out as the only all-black design in the Head lineup and will remain exclusive to Djokovic until he ends his playing career. The sleek black finish, chosen by Djokovic himself, adds a premium look and feel to the racket, further emphasizing its special status as a signature frame for the tennis star. The Legend frame incorporates the latest technology from Head, enhancing stability, touch, and connection to the ball feel for players looking to elevate their game on the court.

Overall, the collaboration between Head and Djokovic on the Speed Legend racket showcases the brand’s dedication to innovation and performance in the world of tennis. Djokovic’s influence on the design and features of the racket, along with his legendary status in the sport, make the Head Speed Legend a standout addition to the Head lineup and a sought-after choice for players looking to elevate their game with a premium, high-performing racket.
