Additionally, the survey explored tipping practices, revealing that 65% of diners tip the standard 20% at sit-down restaurants, but many prefer to tip based on their own judgment and appreciate transparency regarding automatic tipping policies.

When it comes to splitting the bill, Yelp found that 65% of respondents in the South prefer to have the check divided per person, while 34% in the Northeast opt for one person to pay upfront. Meier emphasized the importance of communication and simplicity in the bill-splitting process, suggesting the use of money-sharing apps to streamline payments.
