In 1995, NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope captured images of the Pillars of Creation in the Eagle Nebula, which have since become iconic for their ethereal beauty. Recently, NASA released a new 3D visualization of these celestial structures using data from the Hubble and James Webb space telescopes. This comprehensive movie provides a detailed view of these star-birthing clouds, showing how they appear different in visible and infrared light. The visualization was developed by a team led by Frank Summers of the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) in Baltimore, offering viewers a unique perspective on these towering pillars.
