Ciara, a mother of four, has experienced the ups and downs of postpartum weight loss, learning to appreciate her evolving figure, including her hips. Initially focusing on toning specific areas of her body, she shifted her mindset towards living healthier and making better fitness decisions. Setting a goal of losing 60 pounds in four months after her first child, Ciara realized the importance of maintaining her base weight and making an overall promise to live a healthier life.

Striving towards her target weight while living a balanced lifestyle, Ciara encountered setbacks in her weight loss journey. Realizing the challenges and imperfections of motherhood and weight loss, she learned to give herself grace and indulge in her favorite treats occasionally. After giving birth to her second child, Ciara worked out up to three times a day, adopting a strict routine to shed her pregnancy weight. Her disciplined approach paid off as she lost 50 pounds in five months and eventually eased up on her intense regimen.

Partnering with WW International after her third child was born, Ciara shared her journey towards losing 48 pounds and regaining her pre-pregnancy weight. She emphasized the importance of setting a positive example for her children by making healthier choices while still enjoying the foods she loves. Sharing her passion for boxing as a body and mind workout, Ciara finds it therapeutic and a key part of her exercise routine. Additionally, she had to ‘retrain’ her abs after being diagnosed with diastasis recti, a condition resulting from pregnancy that required core workouts to reconnect and strengthen her muscles.

As someone who ran track in high school, Ciara has always been an athlete at heart, incorporating treadmill workouts into her fitness regimen. Highlighting the benefits of simple workouts like sprinting on a treadmill, she emphasized the importance of being realistic about what is good for one’s body. Teaching her children healthy eating habits, Ciara finds balance in letting them try new foods while also indulging in treats occasionally. With snacks like carrots, cucumbers, and cheese sticks on hand, she encourages her kids to eat vegetables while still enjoying a variety of foods.

Ciara’s approach to nutrition involves eating several small meals throughout the day to keep cravings in check and maintain a well-oiled body. Hydrating regularly with a gallon and a half of water per day, she emphasizes the importance of proper nutrition alongside intense workouts. Combining cardio with weight lifting in a circuit training style workout, Ciara targets all muscle groups for a full-body workout. When not working with a trainer, she enjoys rides on her Peloton bike, particularly with her favorite instructor, Ally Love.
