Ryan Green and his girlfriend purchased an old, abandoned bank in the neighborhood where Green grew up with the intention of turning it into something special. After submitting a winning bid of roughly $34,000 at an auction, they embarked on the renovation process. The 28-year-old property developer detailed the journey on social media, explaining that the building had been empty for 12 years and required significant work to make it livable.

During the renovation process, the couple installed a new bathroom and kitchen, eight double-glazed windows, and a new roof. Seventy-five percent of the walls were removed in order to create the desired space. Green noted that the project presented many challenges but after six months and approximately $65,000, they were able to move into their new two-bedroom apartment within the transformed bank. The front half of the property now houses a home interior store, while the apartment is located in the back.

After completing the renovation of the old bank, Green and his girlfriend moved on to their next project of renovating a block of apartments near the coast. Their long-term goal is to renovate a 12-acre farm and create a glamping resort, complete with animals, barn conversions, and more. Eventually, they hope to use the proceeds from their ventures to establish a dog rescue sanctuary. The couple’s commitment to transforming neglected spaces into functional and welcoming environments reflects their passion for revitalizing properties and creating unique living spaces.

The couple’s dedication to repurposing neglected buildings is evident in their renovation of the old bank and their future plans for the farm and glamping resort. Green’s background as a property developer and his experience in renovating properties over the past three and a half years have prepared him for these ambitious projects. The success of the old bank renovation, despite the challenges faced along the way, showcases the couple’s creativity, resourcefulness, and determination to create spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Through social media, Green provides a behind-the-scenes look at the renovation process, offering insights into the challenges and triumphs of transforming the old bank into a storefront and home. The couple’s innovative approach to property development and their commitment to sustainability and animal welfare set them apart in the industry. By sharing their journey with others, Green and his girlfriend inspire aspiring renovators and property developers to think outside the box and consider the potential of neglected spaces for creating unique and purposeful environments.
