The Times reports that the hearing into Manchester City’s alleged 115 breaches of Premier League rules is set to begin in September, with a verdict expected early in the new year. The independent commission overseeing the case was originally scheduled to start in November, but sources with knowledge of the situation have indicated a mid-to-late September start date. City are accused of breaching financial regulations, some dating back to 2009. The outcome of City’s legal case against the Premier League’s associated party transaction rules (APT) is also set to be revealed in the next two weeks, clearing the way for the 115 charges hearing to take place sooner.

Chelsea are back in talks with Atlético Madrid over a possible deal for Joao Felix after their move for Samu Omorodion fell through, the Guardian reports. Atlético values the Portugal forward at around €50m (£43m), and Chelsea have engaged in discussions with his agent, Jorge Mendes, for a permanent deal. Despite Omorodion’s deal falling through, it is uncertain how this will impact Atlético’s move for Conor Gallagher, though the England midfielder was recently seen in Madrid completing his medical. Atlético is close to signing Julián Álvarez from Manchester City for a deal worth up to €95m (£81.5m) and were relying on the sale of Omorodion to fund their move for Gallagher.

Newcastle have made a third offer of £55m for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, with potential add-ons taking the deal to £60m, the Daily Mail reports. Newcastle’s interest in the England international has been known throughout the summer, but a fee has yet to be agreed upon. Palace is holding out for a minimum £65m valuation, with the Magpies previously having a bid of £48m plus add-ons turned down. Sporting director Paul Mitchell is handling negotiations for Newcastle and has put forth the latest offer, which is currently being considered by Palace.

Nottingham Forest is on the verge of signing 24-year-old winger Ramón Sosa from Argentine club Talleres, the Telegraph reports. Forest is also searching for a new center forward, with the potential £11m deal for Paraguay international Sosa expected to be completed before the start of the Premier League season. Manager Nuno Espírito Santo is keen on adding more width to the squad, with Sosa seen as a promising talent. Forest recently acquired Portuguese attacker Jota Silva and may loan him to Greek club Olympiacos if Sosa and another winger are signed before the transfer deadline. Sosa is set for a medical examination in the next 48 hours and is expected to contribute to the first team this season.
