This year’s competition saw “The Bear” leading the comedy field with 23 nominations for its second season, but it was “Hacks” that came out on top. On the drama side, newcomer “Shōgun” received 25 nominations and won several awards, including outstanding drama series. Many Emmys were already awarded at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremonies earlier in the month, including outstanding game show host for Pat Sajak and outstanding animated program for “Blue Eye Samurai.”

In the comedy category, the winners included outstanding comedy series “Hacks,” outstanding lead actor in a comedy series Jeremy Allen White for “The Bear,” outstanding lead actress in a comedy series Jean Smart for “Hacks,” outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series Ebon Moss-Bachrach for “The Bear,” and outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series Liza Colón-Zayas for “The Bear.” The guest actor and actress awards in the comedy series category went to Jon Bernthal and Jamie Lee Curtis for “The Bear,” respectively.
Other winners included outstanding limited or anthology series “Baby Reindeer,” outstanding television movie “Quiz Lady,” and outstanding animated program “Blue Eye Samurai.” RuPaul’s Drag Race won outstanding reality competition program, and Shark Tank won outstanding structured reality program. Pat Sajak won outstanding host for a game show for “Wheel of Fortune,” and Alan Cumming won outstanding host for a reality or competition program for “The Traitors.” The award for outstanding writing for a drama series went to Will Smith for “Slow Horses” and the award for outstanding writing for a limited/anthology series or movie went to Richard Gadd for “Baby Reindeer.”
