The lawsuit filed by Rep. Ronny Jackson and victims of past terror attacks in Israel alleges that the Biden administration has unlawfully provided more than $1.5 billion in aid to Gaza and the West Bank, supporting Palestinian terror groups like Hamas. The complaint claims that Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken knew that the aid was directly supporting terror structures but still pushed for the funding to be provided to organizations in the region, in violation of the Taylor Force Act signed by President Trump in 2018.
The aid was intended for social services, education, and infrastructure, but the complaint argues that it allowed the Palestinian Authority to funnel its own assets to terrorism, using US funding to support terror activities. The amended complaint, filed by the conservative group America First Legal, includes new emails obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests that reveal the administration’s efforts to undermine Israel. The legal action alleges that increased funding led to an increase in terror attacks and that the administration knowingly chose to support the Palestinians despite the risks.
Email exchanges cited in the filing show discussions about progress during Israel’s parliamentary elections and humanitarian response and reconstruction efforts in Gaza following a conflict with Hamas. The lawsuit alleges that the administration was aware of the risks of providing aid that could be diverted to support terror activities, particularly through Hamas’ tunnel system. The plaintiffs argue that the US government funding was subsidizing Hamas’ tunnels and that the administration demonstrated hostility towards the Jewish state in its policy decisions.
The Biden administration attempted to dismiss the case last year, but a federal judge denied the motion following a terror attack by Hamas in Israel. The lawsuit seeks to stop further funding of Palestinian terror operations that result in killings, such as the stabbing of Taylor Force in 2016 and a suicide bombing in Jerusalem in 2003 that injured New Jersey native Sarri Singer. The complaint also includes reports that indicate a high risk of aid funding being obtained by Hamas and other terror groups, along with allegations of the Palestinian Authority contributing to terrorists involved in attacks.
The plaintiffs in the case are expecting a response from the government next month, as they continue to pursue legal action against the Biden administration for allegedly breaking the Taylor Force Act and supporting terrorism through aid funding. Rep. Jackson condemned the administration’s actions, stating that the world is less safe under Biden’s leadership compared to Trump’s. He accuses Biden and Blinken of having blood on their hands and directly linking American taxpayer dollars to Palestinian terror against Israel. The lawsuit aims to hold the administration accountable for its actions and prevent further destabilization in the Middle East.
