Samsung is gearing up to unveil three new Galaxy Z Fold 6 handsets at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. The model number SM-F958 is believed to represent one of these handsets, likely the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6 model. The use of the trailing 8 in other models typically signifies top-end smartphones with the “Ultra” tag, indicating that Samsung may also release an Ultra variant of the Fold 6. The model number specifically references South Korea, hinting at the possibility of the handset being a limited-release model in select territories or awaiting certifications for release in other markets.

In addition to the standard and Ultra models, Samsung is also working on a more affordable “Fan Edition” variant of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, known as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE. This model is expected to offer a budget-friendly option by compromising on materials, memory and storage options, and using components that may not be the latest technology. With the introduction of these three variants, Samsung aims to cater to a wider range of consumers, including those who prioritize price as well as those who seek top-of-the-line specs.

Traditionally, Samsung has marketed a single model to consumers, but the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 release marks a shift towards offering multiple variants. By providing three distinct options, including the standard Fold 6, the budget-friendly FE model, and the high-end Ultra model, Samsung hopes to appeal to a broader audience. The Ultra model is likely to attract tech enthusiasts who prioritize cutting-edge features, while the FE model targets cost-conscious consumers. The standard Fold 6 serves as a middle ground option for consumers seeking a balance between price and performance.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is anticipated to introduce lower than expected specs in terms of fast charging capabilities. While previous Samsung models have featured fast charging technologies such as 45W charging, it is rumored that the Fold 6 may offer slower charging speeds. This move could be a strategic decision to address concerns over battery longevity and overheating issues associated with fast charging. Despite the change in fast charging specs, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is still expected to deliver a range of innovative features and improvements compared to its predecessors, making it a highly anticipated release in the smartphone market.
