Kate Gosselin recently celebrated her sextuplets’ 20th birthday by sharing a rare photo of her now-adult children on Instagram. In the photo, four of the sextuplets – Alexis, Aaden, Joel, and Leah – were all smiles as they posed behind a birthday cake featuring a pickle. Two of the sextuplets, Collin and Hannah, were not in the photo. Kate shares the sextuplets with her ex-husband Jon Gosselin, with whom she also shares twins Mady and Cara, who are now 23.
Jon and Kate rose to fame through their TLC show Jon & Kate Plus 8, which aired for 10 years from 2007 to 2017. They got married in 1999 but split in 2009, leading to a contentious divorce where Kate was awarded primary custody of their children. Kate had Collin admitted to a treatment facility in 2016 due to behavioral outbursts, a decision that was contested by both Collin and Jon. In 2018, Jon obtained primary custody of Collin and Hannah, who were notably absent in the birthday photo.
Despite the estrangement between Jon and his other children, he is looking to repair the relationship with his kids and Kate. He expressed his hope for a reconciliation, stating that as adults, their children will eventually make their own decisions. Jon mentioned that Collin and Hannah are doing well, with Collin joining the U.S. Marine Corps and Hannah attending the University of Miami. Jon continues to extend olive branches to his other children, hoping for communication and connection in the future.
Jon emphasized the importance of family and his desire to mend the strained relationship with Kate and their children. He mentioned that while Collin and Hannah are in contact with him, the other kids primarily communicate with Hannah. Despite the challenges, Jon remains optimistic about rebuilding the family dynamic and creating a positive relationship with all of his children. As they enter adulthood and make their own decisions, Jon is hopeful for a future where they can come together as a family once again.
