Justin Timberlake is set to appear in court in the Hamptons where he is expected to accept a plea deal allowing him to avoid drunk driving charges. The 43-year-old singer is expected to appear before Justice Carl Irace at the Sag Harbor Village Justice Court on Friday to accept a dropped-down charge that is just a traffic violation. Timberlake is expected to plead guilty to driving while ability impaired in connection with his arrest in Sag Harbor in June. This type of impaired driving offense is not as severe as drunk driving and the singer will likely face a fine of $300 to $500 and a 90-day license suspension.

The Suffolk County District Attorney, Ray Tierney, has stated that Timberlake is not receiving special treatment and that similar plea deals are made in other cases as well. Tierney emphasized that they are treating Timberlake’s case like any other case of its kind. This will be the second time Timberlake has appeared in court regarding DWI charges. In his previous arrest in June, Timberlake was reportedly intoxicated and displayed several signs of poor balance and inability to follow instructions. He was found in possession of a wristwatch, a vape pen, and cash during the arrest. Timberlake has maintained his innocence throughout the legal proceedings, with his attorney denying that he was drunk at the time of his arrest.

Despite facing legal troubles, fans of Timberlake have continued to support him, with many attending his concerts after the arrest and defending his reputation. The incident involving the arrest led to a variety of memes across social media platforms as it was alleged that the young police officer who pulled Timberlake over did not recognize him. Timberlake did not appear in previous court hearings due to his commitments on his world tour, where fans forgave him for the incident. However, Timberlake’s attorney declined to comment on the potential plea deal at the upcoming hearing.

It is reported that Timberlake refused to take a breathalyzer test after blowing through a stop sign near the American Hotel in June. Despite claiming to have only had one martini with friends, he failed field sobriety tests and was found to have displayed signs of intoxication during his arrest. The NSYNC alum pleaded not guilty during a virtual court appearance in August, where his driver’s license was suspended by the judge. Timberlake has repeatedly denied being drunk at the time of the incident, with his attorney also denying the allegations. The potential plea deal would allow Timberlake to accept a lesser charge and avoid more serious consequences related to drunk driving charges.
