Jennifer Lopez made a stunning appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, where she showcased her figure in a side-baring gown by Tamara Ralph. The sparkling silver dress was tied together on both sides with black velvet bows and highlighted her curves as she walked the red carpet for the premiere of her film “Unstoppable.” The movie, produced by Lopez’s estranged husband Ben Affleck under his production company with Matt Damon, also stars actors such as Jharrel Jerome, Don Cheadle, Bobby Cannavale, and Michael Peña. Affleck did not attend the event, but Damon and his wife were present to support the film, which is based on the true story of American pro wrestler Anthony Robles.
Director William Goldenberg shared that despite Lopez and Affleck’s split, the atmosphere on set and during the promotion of the film has not been awkward. He commended Lopez’s professionalism and described her as a dream to work with. The personal lives of the actors, including their recent divorce filing, have not impacted their work together, as they maintain a professional relationship focused on the film’s success.
Less than a month before the film’s premiere, Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20, officially ending their two-year marriage. The separation date was listed as April 26, but the paperwork was filed on the anniversary of their 2022 wedding at Affleck’s Georgia estate. This move was seen as a deliberate message to Affleck by some insiders, indicating a level of tension or frustration. Lopez and Affleck had also earlier gotten married in Las Vegas in July 2022, adding to the complexity of their relationship timeline.
Leading up to the divorce filing, rumors had swirled about the state of Lopez and Affleck’s marriage, with reports confirming that Affleck had moved out of their shared Los Angeles home and even put it up for sale. Sources suggested that the couple was drifting apart and focusing on individual interests and activities, hinting at the separation to come. The split marked the end of their second attempt at a relationship, after they were previously engaged from 2002 to 2004 before going their separate ways.
Following their respective marriages to other partners after their initial split, Lopez and Affleck reunited in a highly-publicized relationship that culminated in a second marriage. Affleck was previously married to actress Jennifer Garner and shares three children with her, while Lopez was married to singer Marc Anthony and shares twins with him. The complexity of their personal lives and previous relationships added layers to their recent separation and divorce, which unfolded as they continued to work together on the film “Unstoppable.” Despite the challenges in their personal lives, their professional relationship has remained focused on the success of the project and maintaining a positive atmosphere on set.
