House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer has indicated that Republicans believe they have proven crimes committed by the Biden family and are now moving into the “accountability” phase of their impeachment probe. While he did not specify the exact laws that were violated, Comer highlighted messy transactions and continued to demand that President Biden testify before the committee. Comer referenced testimonies from three Biden associates – Devon Archer, Tony Bobulinski, and Jason Galanis – who appeared at the second public hearing of the impeachment inquiry last month.

A spokesperson for the Oversight Committee stated that the probe has uncovered evidence suggesting that Joe Biden was the figurehead of the brand his family used for financial gain. The committee intends to issue a report addressing criminal violations at the end of their investigation. Despite these accusations, the White House has not commented on them and continues to refute the claims made by Comer and other Republicans. President Biden has dismissed the allegations and denied having a significant role in his family’s business affairs.

Comer has emphasized that the committee has evidence showing that the Bidens engaged in influence-peddling and received tens of millions of dollars from questionable sources. He invited President Biden to testify before the panel, but the White House has declined to take up the offer. Comer continues to face pushback from the White House, which claims that the impeachment probe is collapsing and that the allegations are baseless. The White House insists that numerous witnesses and records have refuted Comer’s claims.

Comer has alleged that the Biden family has been involved in influence-peddling schemes abroad and has stated that he would vote to impeach Joe Biden immediately. Despite this, he acknowledges that gaining the support of his fellow House Republicans for impeachment is challenging. Comer has also raised concerns about possible retaliation against IRS whistleblowers who have alleged a cover-up in the federal investigation of Hunter Biden. He has sent letters to the Justice Department and IRS regarding these allegations and expressed a commitment to protecting whistleblowers from retaliation by the federal government.

Comer has estimated that foreign sources have funneled over $24 million to President Biden, his family, and their associates without legitimate merit for such payments. He criticized Joe Biden for playing the “forgetful old man card” and claimed that the president has been involved in criminal activities, according to the associates who testified. Comer has maintained his stance on the impeachment probe and continues to press for accountability regarding the Biden family’s actions. The impeachment inquiry remains ongoing, with Comer and his colleagues pursuing further investigations into the allegations against the first family.
