Giulia Manfrini, a 36-year-old Italian woman, tragically died in a freak accident while surfing in the waters of Masokut Island in the Mentawai Islands, located off the west coast of Sumatra. It was reported that a swordfish jumped towards Manfrini and stabbed her in the chest. After the accident, a medical examination revealed that Manfrini had suffered a stab wound to the chest, about 5 centimeters deep. Her body is currently at Pei Pei Puskesmas and is expected to be transported to the city of Padang before being repatriated to Italy.
