Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s highly anticipated album “Vultures 2” is set to release on May 3, but both artists have been notably quiet on social media leading up to the supposed debut. Fans are left wondering if the album will once again face delays similar to the troubled rollout of their previous album, “Vultures 1.”

West announced the release date for “Vultures 2” on “The Download” podcast with Justin LaBoy, setting the date for May 3, nearly two months after its original release date of March 8. Despite this announcement, both West and Ty Dolla $ign have been inactive on social media, with West even deactivating his accounts last week.

There have been some hints at the potential release of “Vultures 2,” as West’s collaborator and creative director Aus Taylor posted on Instagram that the album is “en route.” However, there has been no confirmation that the album will actually come out on May 3, leaving some fans skeptical of its arrival.

In the lead-up to the supposed release of “Vultures 2,” West has released a new music video directed by his daughter North West for a song from “Vultures 1” and dropped a remix dissing Drake, but neither seem to be directly related to the upcoming album.

The rollout for “Vultures 1” was notoriously tumultuous, with multiple delays and legal disputes over sample usage. West faced legal action for alleged unauthorized use of samples from songs by Donna Summer and Ozzy Osbourne. The album also debuted after West’s controversial comments that led to Adidas dropping him as a partner.

A surprising aspect of the potential release of “Vultures 2” is that West may choose not to put it on streaming services, as he allegedly stated in a direct message on Instagram that he believes streaming devalues music. Instead, he may opt to sell the album exclusively on his website.

As fans await the release of “Vultures 2” on May 3, they will be watching to see how the album performs on the charts. “Vultures 1” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, but if West decides not to stream “Vultures 2,” its chart performance may be impacted. The album will also face competition from other major releases on the same day, including Dua Lipa’s “Radical Optimism” and Taylor Swift’s “The Tortured Poets Department.”
