Iranian officials have denied direct control over allied militias in Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, and Yemen, known as the “Axis of Resistance.” The Israeli Defense Forces have conducted airstrikes against suspected Iran-linked targets in Syria, accusing Tehran of attempting to establish bases through allied militias. While Israel has maintained a policy of ambiguity regarding its involvement in such raids, the IDF admitted to a separate attack in Gaza that resulted in civilian casualties.
